Judicial Review Judgment: BAPS’ View
BAPS logo

There have been a lot of questions about this Judgment and the amount of spin Barnet Council has put on the decision. This judgment has wide-ranging implications for the future of local government and the NHS in that more and more councils and Clinical Commissioning Groups will be under increased pressure to try to outsource their problems away. Around 50 people met at the Greek Cypriot Centre on 11th April 2013 to launch a campaign calling on Barnet Council to bring 'Your Choice Barnet' back in-house. The Council hoped that the service would make a surplus - £263,000 by 2015 and £493,000 by 2016 - but instead it has been losing money.
